Our Pledge

We as members, contributors, and leaders pledge to make participation in our community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, gender identity, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, race, religion, or sexual identity.

The following behaviours are strictly prohibited. Participants who engage in them will face immediate consequences.

Step 1

Warnings

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. Organizers may take any action they deem appropriate.

Step 2

Removal

Expulsion from the conference with no refund, or banning from future events. Staff will help contact venue security or local law enforcement.

Step 3

Escalation

Conference staff can provide escorts or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference.

Unacceptable Behaviour

The following behaviors are considered harassment and are strictly prohibited within our community.

Harassment
The use of sexualized language or imagery, and unwelcome sexual attention or advances, including inappropriate physical contact.

Trolling & Disruption
Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, personal or political attacks, and deliberately disrupting talks or workshops.

Discrimination
Publishing others' private information without explicit permission, or other conduct inappropriate in a professional setting.

Intimidation
Violent threats or language directed against another person. Discriminatory jokes and language that intimidate or harass others.

How to Report & Enforcement

If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, there are multiple ways to report it. Our enforcement covers all conference spaces.

Organizers

All conference organizers, staff, and volunteers are responsible for enforcing this code of conduct and taking appropriate action.

Conference Venues

This code applies to all conference venues — main hall, workshop rooms, social events, and satellite events.

Digital

Online & Timeline

Applies to online spaces and before, during, and after the conference — including networking and after-parties.

How to Report

Multiple channels are available. All reports are handled with discretion and confidentiality.

Find a conference organizer or staff member immediately. They can be identified by their staff badges and t-shirts.

Report incidents via email. All reports will be handled with discretion and confidentiality. We take every report seriously.

Anonymous Reports
We understand not everyone feels comfortable making a public report. Anonymous submissions will be investigated to the extent information allows.
